SHOW US THE PRODUCT

Take the product out of the box. (Yes, we know: it should go without saying.) This can help someone imagine how the product would fit into their own lives.

Apparel Tips & Examples

Lay it flat!

Everyone loves a flat lay—show us how you’ll incorporate the article of clothing into an outfit, then snap a pic from above. Pro tip #1: use a plain backdrop, like a clean tabletop, a white blanket, or even your floor. Pro tip #2: Use a small stool or chair to stand on to get the best angle.

Master the Mirror Selfie

An easy (and popular!) way to snag a full-body snapshot is to use a full-sized mirror and take a pic of your reflection. Practice knowing where your phone is so it’s not distracting, and make sure your mirror is clean!

Grab a prop!

Not sure what to do with your hands? Find something to hold, like your coffee, a pair of sunglasses, or your bag— it gives your hands something to do in a natural, not super pose-y way. (Got pockets? Tuck in your fingers but keep your thumb out—it’s another easy way to avoid the standard “hands on your hips” go-to stance.)

Say cheese!

It can be tough to take a posed pic and come across as genuine and relaxed, so if you’re having someone else help snap pics, pick someone you’re totally comfortable with, and who can help make you laugh. It’ll translate naturally into your photos.
